We love our community...

Like many other churches in Galesburg, we actively support the Gospel Mission, Habitat for Humanity, and other community outreaches.  But we know that God is calling us to do even more.  We have been blessed by God to bring his blessings to those around us.  And its not just a one-way street for us.  We know that we need the city for our own spiritual growth and well-being perhaps even more than the city needs us.  We're excited to join God in his mission to bring everything together in righteousness and justice under Jesus Christ.  Stay tuned.  God is at work in our community..and we're eager to join him.

Operation Christmas Child

FBC has been a hub for collecting Christmas shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child for over 15 years.  At its heart, OCC is about the impact of a simple gift delivered with the Good News of Jesus Christ into the hands of a boy or girl living in the midst of poverty and despair.

When a child receives an OCC shoebox gift, it is only the beginning.  Millions of boys and girls also have the opportunity to learn more about Christ's gift of salvation and what it means to follow Him through The Greatest Journey, the follow-up discipleship program Samaritan's Purse developed for shoebox recipients.

FBC receives the boxes as a local collection hub and then sends them to Peoria and eventually to Samaritan's Purse for distribution each November.

Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank

Founded in 2015, the Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank was founded in order to combat the problem of diaper shortage within our community.  Many families struggle to afford diapers as it is a silent need that often goes unmet.  The goal of Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank is so that no person or family ever has to worry about their basic baby needs or personal hygiene products.  Since 2015, the Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank has distributed over one million diapers to people in our community.  They also provide other hygiene products that often go overlooked.

We are happy to partner with this ministry in reaching those in our community.
